National Day of Prayer & Fasting – Brisbane Event 2017
The National Day of Prayer & Fasting Queensland Event is being replaced by regional events around the state. The details for the Brisbane Day of Prayer on the 25th February 2017 can be found here.
To find out where other regional events are being held around Queensland please refer to the main www.nationaldayofprayer.com.au website under the “locations” menu item. Please also consider hosting and organizing one for your region on Saturday 25th February – please contact email@example.com for assistance and to list your event.
Between the 1March 2017 and 9 April 2017 will also be 40 days of Prayer & Worship Relay. Please consider holding /hosting/organizing an event or registering your normal event held during this period at www.40daysofprayer.org.au. We would like to see a prayer relay around Australia, and for the prayer and praise to continue on around regional Australia throughout 2017. You can register your event at www.prayforaustralia.com.au noting that your “event” could be your regular or new or additional prayer group/worship meeting; or prayer over telephone; or prayer meeting held over internet (skype/zoom/facetime etc); or a homegroup dedicated to prayer & worship; or a church service dedicated to praying for nation etc. On website we will then be able to see the location of other prayer meetings, so that if it is ‘public meeting’ others can attend or so that others can be encouraged by the amount of prayer and worship that is happening in this nation.
Past Event – National Day of Prayer & Fasting – Queensland Event 2016
We encourage Queenslanders who love to pray to join us at the Queensland Parliamentary Annexe on Alice St Brisbane City on Saturday the 30th of January 2016 between 10am to 4pm. A bible reading marathon will start nearby at 4pm. (The main event for National Day of Prayer will be held at Canberra Parliament House on Sunday the 7th of February. Local churches and homegroups are also encouraged to get involved with praying for our nation. Some helps and ideas are available on the main website for the National Day of Prayer for local churches and groups to use.)
Come prepared to pray and worship! We will be mixing the format of prayer up throughout the day, and various people will be leading/guiding us in prayer throughout the day. In past years we have had a number of people speak to us to educate us about topics for prayer, this year we are largely skipping over this and getting straight into the corporate prayer (in various formats). A couple of Members of Parliament will also address us briefly.
More information and details for the 2016 National day of Prayer on Saturday the 30th of January 2016 can be found on the next page , including all the practical details of when, where, why etc. For assistance with working out how to get there and car parking please refer to this page on this website.
